Serving Opportunities

Student Ministries
Small group leaders, worship leader, game leader, and some folks who’d like to teach large group every so often.

Small group leaders (nursery, preschool, elementary), large group leaders, and a kids’ volunteer check-in helper/greeter.

Wednesday Nights
1-2 adults/older teens to serve in nursery/toddlers.

Sunday Classes (9:00am)

  • Ambassadors – The Ambassadors class (adults 55+) meets weekly to study God’s word and fellowship together. The class is currently studying the minor prophets. All are welcome!  Room 137.

  • Encouragers –  Adults (55+) meet together for study, prayer and discussion.  This year they will be studying the book of Luke.  They also feature presentations from New Life Global Workers whenever they are available.  All are welcome!  Meets in the Cafeteria.

  • Friends In Christ – This fall, we will be continuing with the video series, “That the World May Know” which shows video footage from the Middle East, helping bring Scripture alive by showing it in context of the world 2,000 years ago. All are welcome. Room 250.


  • Midweek Groups

    Wednesday Nights (6:30-8:00pm)
  • Prayer, Fasting & Pursuing God – This class will focus on applying the principles of prayer and fasting.  We will be studying the material that Pastor Brett will be teaching on Sunday mornings.  Click here to register!  Room 133.

  • HOPE (Helping Overcome Through Prayer & Encouragement) – Ladies, we will be going through the book, “It’s Not Supposed to be this Way” by Lysa TerKeurst.  Click here to register.  Room 137.

  • Financial Peace University – This personal finance class, created by noted author and speaker Dave Ramsey, will teach you how to: Pay off Debt, Budget, Save Money and Give Generously. Registration includes class materials, video teaching and extensive online resources. This class will meet at New Life Church on Wednesday nights, Sept. 18-Nov. 13 (no meeting on Oct. 16) in Room 138. To register and find more details, click here.

  • Cancer Care – The New Life Cancer Ministry exists to meet the individualized needs of a person diagnosed with cancer as well as the needs of related caregivers, families and friends.  Join this class if you are interested in learning more about how to come alongside to support those with cancer and how to join the New Life Cancer Ministry.  Click here to register!  Room 136.

  • Student Ministries – Grades 6-12.  Student Ministries meets for large and small group community, study of God’s word and fun activities.  Click here for more details.  Contact Pastor Grant Lilly (glilly@nlcwoodbury.org).

  • AWANA – age 2-Grade 5.  The AWANA mission is to reach children everywhere with the gospel of Jesus Christ and engage them in lifelong discipleship, helping them to know, love and serve God. Awana Club teaches kids about Jesus and helps them develop socially, relationally and spiritually through age-appropriate Bible lessons, scripture memory, games and fun!   • Thursday Nights
  • Women’s Bible Study – 1 Peter – Are you prepared for suffering? Will trials and persecutions reveal your faith and bring glory to God? Together we will explore these questions and more through our study of 1 Peter. All women are welcome.  Click here to register. Meets every other Thursday, 6:30-8:30pm, beginning Oct. 3. Church Back Conference Room.

  • Saturday Mornings
  • MOMS (Making Our Mothering Significant) – MOMS Group is open to all moms with kids, from babies to high schoolers. Come join us once a month as we study through the book “Missional Motherhood” by Gloria Furman. We will have a hot breakfast and coffee together while we study God’s purpose for motherhood. We look forward to connecting with you! (Childcare will not be provided.)  Meets the second Saturday of each month October 2019-April 2020 in the Upper Room.

  • Sunday Nights
  • Trek & Journey – This optional opportunity is a continuation of the AWANA Ministry for Grades 7-12 and meets at the church from 6:00 to 8:00pm approximately 2 Sundays per month during the school year. A typical night starts with games then moves into a teaching time, handbook time, and fellowship.  Click here to register.

  • Monday Nights
  • Hurting Moms, Mending Hearts – This is a safe place where women can share their heartache openly with other women who are experiencing the same painful emotions because of the choices of their teen and adult children.  The goal of the Breaking Free program is:  To provide space for Hurting Moms (and Grandmas) to step out of isolation and into a community of others who totally understand their pain; to find freedom from the bondage of guilt, shame, anxiety, fear, anger and disappointment; to begin to experience peace and comfort, even amid the turmoil of their situations; to learn to “let go” by surrendering their children to God, knowing that He created them, loves them and has a plan for their lives.  We will meet weekly at Linda Jacobi’s home, 6:30-8:30pm, for 10 consecutive weeks beginning Sept. 16.  Email or call with any questions or to sign up for class:  MomJ2K@hotmail.com or 651-402-1574.
