Summary:
A patriarch of the Christian faith, Jacob paints a picture of God’s people who waver between trusting God and taking matters into their own hands. Jacob’s story is one of deception, family conflict, faithfulness, and blessing, and marks the beginning of the nation called Israel. It serves as a reminder that despite our hasty plans and utter failures, the God of Jacob is faithful to his people and his promises. This study presents a practical 5-step framework for examining the story of Jacob and helps readers observe and interpret Scripture and apply it to everyday life. Each chapter explores a section of the biblical text, helping us understand the nature of God and his pursuit of our wandering hearts.
